we got to see this 
yesterday. It was stinkin cute! Clever and witty dialogue. Plus anything with babies makes me happy and sentimental.
Speaking of sentimental, this post made me all warm and fuzzy inside. I am fortunate to have the same conversations with Joshua.
of her, I made this card for an online friend who had to make a serious adjustment in her day-to-day living. Just wanted her to know that I'm thinking of her. That she is loved and has tons of support behind her. Hope she likes it.
yup that's me. One happy, happy, happy gal cause I received my "must have" Martha Stewart scalloped heart punch. Yep the one I put a nationwide search for. My buddy Dawn found it and I owe her one!
I love that she lovingly wrapped it in bubble wrap and in a box so that it would not get damaged in transit. Thanks so much my friend, again I owe you one.
Now another really cool thing that happened to me is that I fell in love with this scrap space. Lately I've been buying things here and there to kind of duplicate the space and I'm hoping that sometime in the future I will be able to purchase some furniture to house all my scrapping supplies and get rid of all the clutter and the ugly plastic bins that currently house my stuff. The bins are so overloaded with materials that they are not holding up very well and as a result, its became quite an eye sore. Bless Brandon for not giving me too much grief about it, but it does bother me. So eventually, someday. Anyway, I recently found her blog and have been looking at her work. She is really very good at her craft and such an amazingly sweet person. She mentioned that she had her work published in Scrapbook Trends and I wanted to see more details and photos of her work. Lately I've been getting some issues of ST due to my buddy Yvonne getting her pub. nod and because I think the magazine itself is just full of gorgeousness, that I use my Michael's coupon or purchase by way of E-bay to score some issues below the cover price. So I was looking for the Mini-Albums II issue and it's sold out, so Dedra was kind enough to mail me a copy. I was so happy and I suddenly realized that I should have asked her to sign it. Well great minds think alike because not only did she sign it but also left very sweet notes for me inside. 
Here is the sweet note she sent along with the book. I love how she embellished it in the bottom right corner. She stamped an image and then used a button that is faceted on the bottom and then inserted a crystal in its center. Really neat use of product and I will have to lift that from her. If you get a chance check out her blog. I won't steer you wrong, her work is GORGEOUS. Thank you Dedra, I feel very blessed to have found you.
Now, I'm so behind on this but another friend of mine, she actually discovered me. I am so happy to be working alongside her at Scrapping the Music, my friend Barbara nominated me for this. 
Well thank you Barbara, that was mighty sweet of you.

Does anyone still watch the Oscars? I used to. I would literally devour every inch of the night's airing. I used to be big into theatre arts and took acting courses at Northwestern University during their summer program called the National High School Institute or more notably known as "Cherubs." It was quite a feat for me at the time, a really big deal. A girl from the hood, with no money, who was a student at an alternative high school, selected to attend the university. I received a scholarship and the rest of the money was obtained through grants and donations from various charitable organizations. I really wanted to pursue acting, read various books on the subject through the public library attended some plays and took an independent literature course on Moliere, etc. I became an intern at a local community theatre group and then went to work and then acted in my first and only professional play at what was at time Zebra Crossing Theatre in Uptown. I remember feeling so out of place as the students arrived at Northwestern by limos, mercedes benz' and BMWs'. I arrived by taking the good ole CTA baby. I held my own though. I remember we had to perform a monologue and wowing the staff. I remember a boy named Chad from Beverly Hills, who was quite handsome, whom I paid no mind, as all the other girls literally fell to their knees when he came around. Well guess what, the girl he befriended was lil ole me. Ha, ha. Why is that? Ah, I often wonder what would have happened if I would have pursued it. Theatre that is, not Chad.
I have not been to a play since I saw the Vagina Monologues. (Well does seeing Le Reve at The Wynn in Vegas count?) I really would like to resume. I also would love to find a buddy to go to the movies with, although I have been known to go by myself. I really want to see Juno, but at this point, I guess I might as well wait till it comes out on video.
I did manage to see two films on dvd. One was Volver
by Pedro Almodovar. I am a big Almodovar fan. It was okay, however a little mild for an Almodovar film. The other one was Running With Scissors
. I really didn't dig this one. A little too dark and disturbing for me. I think the subject matter was hitting a little close to home as far as my childhood is concerned.
Anyway, tonight is Oscar night. Unfortunately I will not be keeping up with my yearly tradition of watching it. Will wait for the early morning news to get the recap of the winners, losers and who was the best dressed and the worst.
Although, I'm curious to see how that whole Jennifer Aniston and Brad and Angie thing will play out. I'm rooting for Jenn to continue to hold her head high. You go girlie.
whoa, what a week. I'm so glad for the weekend. I'm plum wore out. I'm in a wierd/strange mood too. I think it's because my mind of late is full of worry, strategizing and just full of ideas. I have not been in the mood to scrap, not because I don't want to, but because I have to put it on the backburner as I direct my attention to some pressing issues at hand. Mainly, looking for another full-time job as well as ideas for a part-time job. Yes, my job at Recollections came to an end early this month. Have not mentioned it before as it was bitter sweet. If anything I am grateful that I had the opportunity to work there and meet some really dynamic and creative people. I walked away from that job with budding friendships, which is what this homesick gal really needs. So I guess my life in Texas, is slowly but surely getting better as far as my social life is concerned.
Now my career is another story! I will say that I have dusted off the resume and have submitted my resume for several legal secretarial positions. I had an interview this past Wednesday and that went very well. However, the job is really not suited for me at this stage in my life. So my search continues. If anything, my interview on Wednesday reaffirmed that I'm pretty much getting schafted salary wise at my current place of employment. I was happy that I took the whole day off, although the day went rather quickly. Last Friday when I arrived at work, I had this searing pain in my head and I had some chest pains. It was to the point of being unbearable, so I just decided to go home. Good thing too. I don't know how I drove 25 miles home while feeling so bad, but I thank the good Lord I made it home in one piece. Brandon was really scared and demanded that I go to the doctor, but no. I just went straight to bed. I think what I had experienced was a panic attack brought on by the stress I'm enduring at work. The situation and games at my job have gotten to the point where it is really time for me to leave. I'm working on it.
So today, after doing some research and getting some recommendations, I purchased a point and shoot camera. I'm too tired to mess around with it too much but I did take a photo of the card I made for Lois last night.
I also took a photo of my ATC holder. I finally started to do something with it. I really think I'm just going to do "My So Called Life" theme with it and see how it evolves. 
Well I really should do some scrapping as I have two projects I have to get out tomorrow, but I am just so exhausted. So off to bed I go, but I wanted to say that Brandon and I are very thankful for the comments and emails we received in regards to his grandmother's passing. He was very touched as well as I and we just wanted to say thanks.
my friend turned me on to this. I am going to participate even though it will be past the deadline. I wanted to share this amazing venture with you all. Caring and compassion is a very powerful gift.
EDITED: I completed my card for Lois. Reminding you as I have no camera and am at the mercy of my scanner, the scan does the card no justice. It is so very cute and I hope she loves it as much as I loved making it for her.
my mother-in-law that is. She had made a cute scrapbook for my sister-in-law for x-mas. Ha...imagine that. Unfortunately I never got to see the product in person.

this post is way overdue. Before I begin however, let me just say my 3 year old camera went kaput! I am so sad, I loved that camera. It was a treat to myself with some of my x-mas bonus. Now we have no camera as I had dropped and destroyed my point-and-shoot several months prior. I don't know what is going on with me..totally having bad luck with my devices. Hopefully, I will be able to get another point-and-shooter and then follow up with a digital SLR. Any suggestions, gladly throw them my way.
So on to the goodness at hand. Since I started this blog (last March) through it I have meet some awesome online friends. One of which is the amazing talented Yvonne Berry-Wunderlich. Not only can she make some beautiful stuff, but she is one smart, strong, courageous and gorgeous woman! She also has some good taste in music. She's such an enabler and I love her for it. Well if you pick up the February issue of Scrapbook Trends 
and go to pages 20 and 88, you'll see her pages in their magnificent glory. So much congratulations to you my friend on your first pub. nod.
Also, I had received an e-mail from Yvonne, asking me if I had received anything in the mail. This is my response to her:
Yesterday I got home at a quarter to 11:00 p.m. from Recollections. When I walked in I could hear Brandon snoring, the light was left on in our office/scrap area, he does this for me when I work late. I saw a box on the floor from Amazon. I thought it was from my online friend Allison who is sending me an autograph copy of her book. I started to wonder how she signed it and sent it directly from Amazon...confusion settled in. So I got my bearings and checked my emails. Then once I was done, focused on the box. Opened the box. Surprised, confused, surprised. Read the packing slip. Tears started to form and roll and roll and roll. I sobbed, not out of sadness, but of surprise, touched, happiness, feeling of love and blessing. So in answer to your question, yes, I did get something in the mail from a beautiful woman I met on line named Yvonne. How can I possibly thank you? How could I? How do I? Absolutely loved it, laughed that someone does actually reads my blog and now I will have to actually sew. The music in the car this morning...very nice.
So this is what Yvonne had sent me. 
I had mentioned in a prior post that I wanted to learn how to sew and that I had been acquiring some beautiful fabrics from E-bay. Also because I love music and am always looking out for new sounds, she also got me this.
