Lazy Sunday is my kind of comfort....

Can I say I have tons to do (housecleaning) and that I have decided that this weekend, I'm not going to do them.  I don't want to.  Every weekend it's the same thing. Get up at the crack of dawn and starting cleaning. I'm tired of cleaning.  For once I just want to sit in front of the tv and veg.  That's what I'm going to do, even if it kills me.  Brandon and I are now starting Season 6 of Sex and the City.  Yes girls, my man enjoys the show and it makes me happy that he watches with me.  Needless to say he is in love with Charlotte but trips out on Samantha.  Doesn't every man want a little bit of a Samantha in his life. Ha. 

Yesterday we took the kids to the show to see this:

Now I had no idea what this movie was about.  I just knew the kids wanted to see it instead of Kung Fo Panda and my husband said the movie was getting great reviews.  So off we went.  It was cute.  The theatre was packed.  I was happy that Bella behaved.  She was next to her daddy and holding a big tub of popcorn so she was content.  When the movie was over and we were getting to leave, I looked over to find that she had removed her shirt and was topless.  What the heck is that all about?  That girl, she's going to age me quick.

Also, I have no idea of what is going on at Target, but they had this and so I just had to snag some.  They are really, really cute!  I especially like the typefont going on in the glittered stickers. 

Thanks to all of you who submitted a layout for Sentimental Mood.  The slideshow should be up and so you can see your layouts in the spotlight.  Now I am happy to say that I finished my circle journal last night have it ready for shipping.  I will post pics of it later on today.  I'm so excited as the girls are right on time and some even shipped on Friday.  Yes!!!  I'm also in the process of putting together a 2nd Circle Journal group, so we'll see how that goes.

Yep....

I love that they are so happy.

My children that is.  They are great kids, they are healthy and they are happy.  I have always put them first, my family is the most precious thing to me.  They complete me.  I did not have a happy childhood, hell, who am I kidding, I had no childhood.  I was brought into this world and pretty much abused and neglected and yes, I'm still bitter, I am still angry and above all else--I'm still hurt. 

I put up this tough exterior, a wall to protect myself from being hurt.  Because I know how it feels, I try not to be hurtful or mean to others.  Sometimes I find myself protecting others, even those I don't know.  It's because I don't like mean people or bullies.  Some of you in the scrapbooking community know what I'm talking about, and those who don't--don't worry about it.  Just know this.  If the shit that I have seen and read this past week ever makes its way to me, know that you have met your match and you will lose.  Because as nice as I am, I am very protective of my family and my friends.  I am a raging bull and a fierce ass bitch so know that to be true.

I don't scrapbook because I want to be the next celebrity scrapbooker. I scrap because I love it.  I scrap because it is good therapy and it is healing.  I scrap and share because I enjoy it.  I scrap primarily because my family is interested in it and love the pages I make on their behalf.  I interact on various communites, because I enjoy it and I happen to like the people there. 

So if you think you are taking something away from me by being mean to me, you are sorely mistaken.  To the women who have victimized by these "bullies."  Just remember this, it's not about you, it's about them not being to handle their own personal business.

It's Friday...

hurray!  Are you gonna part-ay?  Sorry just being silly this morning. 

I'm excited about this tonight.  Reveal night at Studio Calico, plus they are celebrating their 1 year birthday/anniversary.  Below is a picture of the main kit for July.  I am happy to say I have none of these items so I'm so looking forward to getting this kit.  Plus, I'm a sucker for stamps and that stamp looks fly.  I'll be on the boards talking smack starting at 8:00 my time and at midnight is when you need to hurry, hurry, hurry and purchase the add-ons cause they sell out at quick lightening speed.  For real!

So nothing much going on in my world, except stress.  The kids--let's just say we are so ready to ship them off to the grandparents for a weekend.  I've been working alongside Mary for Scrapping the Music, they are gonna be some changes and I'm trying to round up guest designers for future challenges.  That is such a fun task.  I'm super excited about the ladies I've rounded up so far.  If you interested in the current challenge, you have until tomorrow night to post your layout.  The song again is Sentimental Mood by Duke Ellington & John Coltrane. 

Speaking of music, I had to get a copy of this and let me tell you I'm very, very happy.  It is currently playing non-stop in my car.  Today I hope to also get Coldplay's lastest cd.  I love, love Coldplay.  I hope to see them in concert someday. 

I'm a "Sentimental" type of gal...

so here it is, my layout for the challenge I've been waiting to come to light for a while now.  My song pick for this week at Scrapping the Music is "Sentimental Mood" by Duke Ellington & John Coltrane.

I'm pretty nervous about this.  Some were a little skeptical about whether or not people would want to do a layout to this piece.  I said why the hell not!  STM is a challenge blog and thus, I wanted to step up the challenge.  So come on by, glance at the layouts made by my fellow design team members, listen to the piece, like really give it a listen, pour yourself a drink, relax and lose yourself in the music.  Then go create and share your piece and show some support for my song choice.  Besides, you just never know if you would be the next STM Hall of Famer and might win yourself a RAK in the process.  Speaking of which, much congratulations to Kristii for her interpretation of Cinderella.  She won the challenge last week is is the newest Hall of Famer.

Little Slices of Happiness....

This subject(s) of this post is going to be random.  A lot is going on in my world, some increase in stress, but a lot of happy news and changes. 

As far as work goes, I've been stressed out a whole lot.  Some stuff went down last week with my boss becoming sicker than she was and so she will be out of the office for a while and it turns out because of her illness a lot of stuff was getting neglected for months and now we have to catch up, repair the damages and do a lot of ass kissing to our clients.  I had to step up my usual game in trifold and I'm just wore out.  I need to focus on trying to job hunt again as I really, really need to be in a totally different work environment and I just need a kick in the ass to do it.

Here is a priceless photo of my daughter that pretty much sums up how I feel physically these days.  How adorable that she passed out on top of her playdoh work table. Just too cute.

 

So I have some additions to my family.  My cousin had his first child, a sweet baby girl, so much congrats to him and his wife.  Also to his parents as they are now grandparents. Also our very best friends Tim & Julie had their third child, a sweet baby girl whose picture I can share. 

Hopefully we will be able to drive down and visit them and get acquainted with Camilla. One day.

I'm excited that my Circle Journal project with the ladies from Studio Calico will be launching next week.  It will be a very long 10 months before I get my journal back.  I hope to finish it this weekend and post some photos of it before I ship it off. 

I want to also give you a head's up for the upcoming Scrapping the Music challenge.  This song for the upcoming week is my idea and I'm a little nervous about it. I decided to step up the challenge a bit and I hope it does offer to be a challenge. Hint: think Ellington by way of Duke. Also I've been assigned to obtain the guest designers for the site and so far I'm very excited about the two women who have agreed to design for the site.  They are like super, super talented and I'm just stoked about the whole thing. 

Speaking of which I need to get cracking on the layout for STM.  Hope to have a sneak posted tomorrow.  Hope you all are having a great start to your weekend.
