A 41-year-old woman was killed Friday in downtown Dallas when her vehicle was hit by a driver who ran a red light, police said.
Aleida Franklin of Lewisville died at Baylor University Medical Center at Dallas less than an hour after the crash, which occurred at 7:15 a.m., according to the Dallas County medical examiner's office.
According to investigators, the woman's vehicle was hit on Olive Street near Woodall Rodgers Freeway.
The driver, Amy Allen, 22, was being held at the Dallas County Jail on suspicion of negligent homicide. The investigation is ongoing.
Thank you for keeping us informed. Aleida had so many friends all over the world that she touched with her spirit, personaility and her zest for life. Even though we never meet, and only commuincated through emails, phone, scrapbook message boards, blogs, etc. I loved her, and my heart is heavy because I will no longer be able to email her and have her cuss at me, or say something no one expected her to say. She will be missed terribly. I can't imagine if myself and many others only knew her via the internet and have been affected by this lost, my heart goes out to those who knew her in person. I will pray for peace for your family. God Bless

She was a beautiful person and my thoughts are with her children and her family. I just feel this weight of sadness for her. And for Amy, the driver - just 22 - what a heavy burden to bear. May we all leave our phones in our purses and pay attention to the road. How very sad.

You and your family are in our prayers.
Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil; For You are with me; Your rod and Your staff, they comfort me. ~ Psalm 23:4

Yesterday I knew about this over the scrapping community. Yes, almost all the important forums, tons of bloggers, evryone was feeling sad... I surffed around and read what everybody wrote, saw this blog, her galleries at two sites, her Flickr site,... I was sad too although I didn't know her personally {heart}
Scrapbooking is a great way to make "family" and to leave great memories; now you have all her memories in her great pages.

My beautiful Aleida, I came here today hoping that this was all a dream, as soon as I read September 13... this is so hard, I'm very angry, very upset, confused. I look at my phone hoping that I'll see a new email from you, I keep coming back to your blog I see your pictures and I say to myself this is not happening.
My heart goes out to Brandon and the kids, I know how much you loved them. Mami was telling me stories about you as kid, and how much you look like your mother. Mami's not doing very well, I know that you are having fun with abuelo Flor in heaven and that you're watching us from up above. You were more than a cousin, my big sister, my confident, my inspiration.
I love you girl, I will see you again, we will have fun
Until we meet again, as I always wrote you, lots of love from la isla bonita

She is my dear, dear friend, and I miss her like you have no idea.
She was an amazing person and I feel extremely lucky to have had her in my life.
Know that you and those beautiful kiddos have been in my mind non stop.
Sending you big, huge hugs.
